Applying to Study for a BFA

The University of Oxford has one admissions process each year for its undergraduate degree programmes, and this has now closed for 2013.

If you are thinking about applying to study for a BFA at the Ruskin in 2014, the application deadlines have now passed and the admissions process is closed.  The next date for applying to the Ruskin is mid-October 2014 when you will need to submit a completed UCAS application form online via UCAS: http://www.ucas.comand then a portfolio to the Ruskin.

The program
The Art Practice program offers a low-residency, cross-disciplinary approach to an MFA degree. In this post-conceptual, post-studio era, artists pursue their practice by engaging an idea first, and then developing a plan that may involve a combination of media, technologies and techniques. We encourage participants to explore traditional art media as well as techniques and technologies not typically associated with artmaking.

Applications received by January 15th, 2014 will be reviewed in one pool and have priority for Summer 2014 admission. After that time we will continue to accept applications, to be reviewed in the order received, as space permits. Decision letters for applications received by January 15th will be mailed by April 1, 2014.

The two-year Master of Fine Art (MFA) program at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, foregrounds the reciprocal articulation of research, practice, and professionalization. It considers critical reflection, debate, and action as integral to self-directed artistic research and practice, and fosters professional development for emerging artists through exposure to key actors and influences in the field of contemporary art, professional guidance and workshops, and exhibition and public programming opportunities for presenting ideas and work to wider audiences.
